auto focus works pretty well, and the camera picked up the textures
quite well, i'd say. about 8-10 inches from subject, no flash, under the
fluorescents at my office, shadow is from the desk.

and here is my wife's boy: Jake, the cat. about 12 inches from subject,
flash, in overhead lighting (compact fluorescent in frosted globe)

I agree. I am amazed by its clarity.

Here's a pic of my mouse -

Finally got my 8900 and I am STOKED on how awesome the camera is. Had to snap a few pics and this one wow'd me the most.

This one was a close second, tho. The flash was used and I was, obviously, pretty close and it is still not drowned out it light. PLUS you can see individual hairs... I am honestly amazed at how good, and fast, this camera is. I was worried about the autofocus because my buddies G1 takes FOREVER to focus.....

Not bad at all for a PHONE! If I need H(er)Q pics then out comes the EOS!

Our little dog:

Some stuff in the yard:

I don't have a Rolex but here is my watch:
(with sun above/behind)

(with sun above/in front)

(those images are all re-sized, but otherwise untouched)

Blows the camera on my old 8100 away by far, blows away the 8320 I had next after that too!

Some pix are 1.3mb, unheard of for a phone. Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens...This camera makes my 8100 look like a joke. Autofocus works great and the flash is blinding. I wish I could turn it down.

i put some others up, you can see them here.

caught this little fella (not so little, really) sunning on a potted plant after a
mid-morning shower. coiled up snake is quite an exciting site when you open
your front door!

why i don't wear sandals.

this guy came home from the grocer, spent the night in the cooler.

is not what it looks like.

you see some messed up stuff on trash day.
