Talking Can I change DM to Backup to a Specific Folder?

Please Login to Remove!

This is my first post and so far this forum has been really helpful to me.

I am using Ver 4.7.0.32 of Desktop Manager. I have an 8330 Curve. In a previous version of DM, after the first time I backed up my BB files to a specific folder, the DM software would remember that folder as the default.

This new version doesn't do that. It brings me to My Documents each time I backup. I have set up a special folder for BlackBerry backups. It's only a minor annoyance, but is there any way I can have the DM software automatically "remember" my preferred folder for backups?

Thanks very much.

Curt

If you click on Options > Data Folder Options, you can select the folder you want.

Just a thought.. DM 4.6 was a little bit better than 4.7. 4.7 does not recognize beta versions of the OS

I think DM 4.6 was a little bit better too. BTW, I tried Options > Data Folders but that doesn't define where backups are stored, just data. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I have the same question. With all previous versions of the Desktop Manager, it would remember that I want my backups in a folder nested in the MyDocuments folder so all of the backups don't end up in the main folder. Now, it defaults to MyDocuments and doesn't "remember" when you change the backup to another folder and then return to backup on another day. The options for Sync file folder destination has no impact on this.

yeah, DM 4.7 seems to "fix stuff that weren't broke".

as for the OS upgrades (beta or not), try using the loader.exe in the AppLoader folder.

Yes, I noticed that too. Kind of annoying.

It is more than annoying, it is downright pathetic. I tried regedit and searching all the config files - all to no avail. Talk about making things worse, v4.7 seems much slower also. I have a time constraint, the laptop leaves for the west in a couple of hours, so I have a very irate user whose backups are fouling the docs directory! No time to go back a ver. What game do they think they are playing here?
