Default Suggestion for This Media Section

Please Login to Remove!

I suggest that the thread be segmented into sub-folders for each model of Blackberry, or at least in general groups (83xx, 89xx 90xx, etc).

This would make it easier to find themes for your model.

In addition, perhaps further sub-division into themes for purchase and themes for free.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions. We've discussed that.

Keeping it open and general really is smarter, in that SO many themes cross platforms between the 8100, 8300 and 8800 series. as well as other media such as ringtones and wallpapers.

Using the search button FOR THIS FORUM ONLY is a good idea when looking for certain model themes. You get less clutter in the search results.

Ok cool, thanks.

I'm of the personal opinion that a more organized thread would be nicer (if you don't want to do by models, you could do just by the common groups), but I bow to the wisdom of you moderators...

Feel free to delete this thread now, since it's not useful! =)

Understood JSanders....
but perhaps one of the suggestions would be to have posters put the applicable model number in the title? I use 'search' ; but for this forum, it would be easier if it was 'searchable' with a GLANCE instead of a button.
Just my opinion...thanks for listening/reading.

And agree with Aldazar... delete this thread when the spirit moves you.

Let's leave the thread up for other opinions. The moderation team is open to ideas, always. And the subject posted is not closed. I just offered my opinion on how difficult that would make for placing threads. We might need 5 threads for the same theme.

I would love everyone to name their thread titles in a better manner... it would be great.

Breaking it down into devices works....sometimes. But when you have one theme for all devices, posting it 6-7 times is a pain.

Suggestion from me would be to take the "Posting Requirements" that are already in place, but add to them so that the title of the thread has to start with the device.

For example...

"<device>" / "OS" / "<theme name>"

8900,9000 / OS 4.6 / Today Plus Bottom Dock

For example, I just changed the title of this thread from "Suggestions for This Thread" to "Suggestions for this Media Section".

i have little interest in 3rd-party and after market themes, but if i were - this is how i would want to browse through them.

Agreed, device model and/or OS version should be in the title. Would make searching sooooo much easier.

You can currently search by say Bold 0r 9000, but if you don't choose to search titles only then you get results from a poster that simply asked to have a theme ported for the bold or whatever, because the results include individual posts within the threads.

If the OP doesn't have Bold or 9000 in their title and you do do a search by title only, you are going to miss their thread. And then they get their buns in a knot, because no one is commenting on their theme. <- ok that part was just a j/k lol

Wirelessly posted

I think the forum has a good layout already but wonder if maybe a "tech/media" section could be added to the existing model specific sections?
