Under BES5.0.3, we have BES HA setup which protects us against node failure but to provide HA for the SQL DB, I confgured SQL mirroring for the BESMgmt database and when the SQL serverA goes down, the Mirrored SQL serverB bring the mirrored copy online. I have to reinstall BES on the passive node to point to the SQL ServerB Database for service to resume. and all has been working fine and when the SQL serverA is brought online, reinstall BES pointing to the SQL ServerA Database and all is ok.

Under BES10.1, would this work ? as SRP looks at the MAC address of the machine and the licensing model is different - I am not sure, but going to test out...

How do you guys protect against SQL Server failure ?

I run SQL in clustered mode on server 2012 with nightly database to file backups.

for us this is enough as the database does knot hold as much as BES 5 did

ok , but assuming you dont have SQL in cluster mode but instead have SQL Mirroring enabled, would the way I have been doing work ?

I am actually not sure SQL Mirroring can be done now, as I have just noticed that the "Database Mirroring" tab on the Server Configuration Panel of BES10 doesnt exist anymore !! - is present on BES5.0.3
