Unhappy Problem loading apps on 8310

Please Login to Remove!

I have searched and though I have found several threads with this issue, I have not seen any solutions.
I just replaced my 8800 with a 8310 and removed my 8800 software and loaded the 8310 software on my pc. I am a longtime bb user and am quite familiar with how to load apps. However, I cannot load any apps on my 8310 unless I do it OTA. Whenever I try, I get "No additional applications designed for your device were found". If this issue has been answered somewhere then I can't find it. Any help would be appreciated.

NJBlackberry has told me (in another post) that this is a common problem and that this issue is addressed somewhere. I hate to post questions that have been answered again and again and I may be doing that but I do not understand the problem nor what to do.

OK ok ok. Nevermind. I see what I need to do. Have never had to do that before in my many years owning a bb. Sorry for redundant question.
(Impressive, I have started and ended my own thread!)

I'm glad you were able to solve your own problem, but you didn't share the solution with the rest of us.... LOL

I had another issue (one relating to Crypt Magic not working on my 8310, even though it was working on the 8300), and I have this solution:

Go to: BlackBerry Operating System Downloads - BlackBerryFAQ

Click on the link for your country and carrier. In my case, USA, AT&T:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E4F82F9F00E7D4

In the drop down menu, choose the Blackberry Curve 8300

Scroll down, click on download the software. That took me to:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...D615A00DD50DAD

The download updates the Blackberry Desktop Manager, and makes it possible to load applications on the 8300.

I hope that helps.
(I also hope that all of my information is correct)

I had this problem too, even when I had the latest Desktop manager software loaded on my PC.

The way I solved it was to download the latest handheld OS also.
I didn't even have to atually go through with the update on the device (although I did anyway) but just by having it on the PC allowed me to download applications that I couldn't before.
