Default Media Problems?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have recentely upgraded to the 8310 curve. On the whole V pleased!

However, after closing down Roxio media manager in disgust (never to be opened again) I used WMP to sync up some tunes and podcasts.

Everthing was going well until I tried adding a lot more songs (have a 2Gb card installed.) The first time I tried to view the new content it seamed to take an age to populate the list with the new stuff. The next time it only brought up the original list.
I have since tried wiping the card and starting again, but after a format see the original list on the BB but no file is there when trying to play it. Also, no new content is being added tothe list. I can't find any "refresh list" option?

Mass storage support is on, and I do see the new files when browsing on the PC. Also can see the files on the BB when using "explore" option. just not in the main music list.

Running latest BB OS from RIM.

Any ideas gratefully recieved.

With Mass Storage Mode enabled, while plugged into the USB and PC, you will not be able to explore the SD card. Unplugged from PC, it is viewable.

Is that your issue?

Thanks for the reply.

I have the mass storage enabled, but I wasn't connected to the PC.

The problem was that the list of media seemed to have "hung" and was not updating. - I just lifted the battery and started from cold and it did update the list - removing the previously deleted files and adding the new ones.

good deal. I have had to do that, to reboot to show new adds or deletes in the ringtones and media.

Actually, after a little more playing, it looks like if you want to delete a file you need to do it on the device otherwise it doesn't up date the list correctly. Then you have to reboot to see the changes.

maybe a bug? hopefully they'll sort it out innew OS's
