One article spoke to it being a fraction or so of an inch taller than the current 8800. I guess that rules out ordering some Seidio accessories in advance. Wife is gonna be bummed... as am I.

BoomCricket - yes, the regular 10MB or unlimited data plan can be purchased with this phone.
The $65 data plan is an unlimited world data plan.

Default The best kept secret?!

Yes, we've all seen the PR on the 8830 by now, but think about it: I've yet to see anyone reporting on any of the BB enthusiast web sites that they've actually played with, evaluated or otherwise used one ~ despite the fact we are less than two weeks before launch by the carriers! Now, isn't this some kind of record for keeping a phone so "out of the hands of the those who share"!!???

What does this mean? Can normal customers still call or get it from Verizon thru the website or by calling them on 5/14?

Is there any confirmation from Verizon that the 8830 will be released on 5/14? I called up Verizon and they claim they dont know a release date. The only one I see is a press release from Blackberry saying that Verizon will release it on May 14. Anyone have any thoughts??

Well being that VZW has the press release up on their site stating May 14, I would think it's safe to say that it is a firm release date for B2B. The consumer release is May 28 in case anyone wasn't clear on that.

Here's the release: Verizon Wireless Announces The Next Evolution In Global Connectivity: The BlackBerry 8830 World Edition Smartphone And Global BlackBerry Service

Straight from Verizon Wireless Blackberry - Your World in One Place

So it breaks down like this (Looks like the same to me )

8830: 4.49" x 2.60" x 0.55" (114 x 66 x 14 mm)
8800: 4.49" x 2.60" x 0.55" (114 x 66 x 14 mm)
8300: 4.20" x 2.36" x 0.61" (107 x 60 x 15 mm) - In case you were curious

No problem. The 8300 is the Curve...for GSM. It's the 8800 and Pearls love child.
