I had a nightmare loading this new OS. In the middle of loading it - the dog yanked the USB cable out of the computer...tried booting up the phone and wouldn't boot up.

Had to download JL Commander and it wouldnt connect to the device..so then had to follow the steps to get the OS loaded and so on.

My only complaint so far is when on the home screen - and you scroll up so no icons are selected - the bottom area where the icons are greys out and you can hardly see the icons until you scroll back in. This is kind of retarded..if they wanted to hide the icons..why have it greyed out? why not just show the background.

You can use any OS made for the 9700 on any carrier's 9700. Just make sure you delete the vendor.xml file as it states in the upgrade instructions.

what about this >>>>.

Can you delete from messages>fiew folder>missed calls or phone call logs.
And then go to home screen and press the GREEN button on your phone...see wether the phone calls logs really are deleted there.

Because with .344 and .321 they are not deleted. you have to sort of delete them by pressing the GREEN button (open the phone call logs) then delete manually from there.

If I install this version, will I need to perform Enterprise Activation again or will it carry over everything? I ask because my IT will get annoyed if I keep ask them to let me go through activation (only available for 48 hours at a time) every time I want to update the OS. Thanks.

If you have the Desktop Manager installed with the BES option on your work PC, then it will reactivate on it's own. If not, then you will have to run EA manually once the update is complete.

I do have Desktop Manager installed on my work computer, but I never setup the "Outlook" profile, so I just hit cancel whenever it comes up. I tried it once before and I guess I didn't set it up right because my e-mails were appearing on the BB but disappearing from my inbox on the laptop.

Do I need that "Outlook" profile setup?

HELP!! I downloaded the newest OS listed on this post and installed it. Removed vendor.xml and loader doesn't detect the new files. It keeps saying no action needed. Tried both within BBDM and loader.exe but neither worked. How can I upgrade without wiping my device?

also, I was wondering if anybody has a fix to BBM problem. Whenever I load the apploader, it keeps showing the BBM 4.7 and 5.0 (downloaded from App World). 4.7 will be unchecked and listed as "deleted". This happens EVERY time I go into apploader. What can I do? Even with the new OSes, it only comes with BBM 5.0 so I don't even know where it gets 4.7.

I have noticed one thing with this build that I havent noticed with others...

When I get a new email and go into the messages folder..the new email is highlighted...but when I press the trackpad to open it...it opens a the previously viewed email.

I then have to click back and scroll OFF the new email and back ON for it to open the correct email.

Just keep the 4.7 unchecked and the 5.0 checked. And no, the new OSs do not come with 5.0 BBM. They come with 4.7.

mckinney, you'll start to see the newer OS releases begin to have BBM5 included. While it doesn't apply to the 9700, on my 9520 the latest .402 release does include BBM5. Surprised me.

So watch for that in some future upgrades.

That will be nice. I did notice that if you only install 4.7, it will tell you that there is a newer version available when you open BBM and ask if you want to download it.

About the Greyed out thing. It does not affect those with UNBRANDED BlackBerry 9700. It affect T-Mobile yes.

As a matter of fact I think it affected those with BlackBerry 9700 who runs only on 3G and 2G mode only. Not with those running 3G&2G.

Give it time, maybe 20-30 mins to complete the upgrade. Don't pull the USB cable or battery. If after an hour, you are still stuck, post back about the status at that point.
