You never know, but I doubt there will ever be a camera in a real BlackBerry. But maybe in a future RIM-derived product that works with the BlackBerry network (read: a new brand line designed for consumers -- like "BerryMedia")
The same thing was said about Bluetooth. Then Bluetooth wireless addressbook synchronization. And Bluetooth keyboards. Rumors were posted that Bluetooth modem will now be added to an upcoming BlackBerry OS release. Now somebody that seems to be an insider, posted a message about RIM is talking about figuring out how to securely add a memory upgrade slot to a BlackBerry (read: memory card such as MicroSD), knowing that it is a sensitive issue. (Business usage apply: hospital diagnosis databases, real estate databases, GPS maps, etc)
You never know... 5 years ago, we would have never imagined BlackBerry where they are now! This stuff isn't going to happen in the next 5 years though, anyway. Cameras may just be a fad though, but some fads have persisted -- many people thought text messaging and Internet on a cellphone was a fad back in the 90's. It still more-or-less is for some people who don't need a BlackBerry, but we all agree that such features are "here to stay".
www.blackberry.com was even redesigned to appeal more to consumers, since the consumer segment for BlackBerry usage is exploding.
I agree with you -- It will never happen -- But spun differently, I think it could happen differently through a twist of events 5 years from now, like through another model line derived from RIM, separate from business BlackBerry models. At the very least, it is easier to imagine a Bluetooth connection between a BlackBerry and a Bluetooth-enabled camera.
