Default True Poll: Companion to The Other Poll: Please Vote

Please Login to Remove!

I just thought we should have an easier way to talley the responses. This is my first attempt to create a poll on a forum so please bear with me.

Refering to this thread
Who Wants A Camera

Please Vote on your Choice

Yes,
No,
Don't Care

And Please add a post to say you voted, not necessarily how, but it's the only to keep it on the front page. Votes don't move a thread

Thanks

I would like to have the ability to sync via usb to email photos, but dont want some 1.3megapixel piece of garbage. Just would like an option to email pics. Not a priority, just a nice feature were it to be available

I voted yes but only if they offer the same model without a camera.
I wouldn't want them to come out with the latest and greatest model that has a camera and not offer that without.

I would want them to develop a BlackBerry that would compete directly with the Treo for functionality and features.

Camera
Unlocked Bluetooth for more than just headsets
IR Beaming so I can send contact info to other PDAs
SD/XD slot

etc.

Yeah, and it would cost twice as much as the current BBs or would be a lot less reliable, like the Treo. No thanks, I want a reliable communication tool.

Thanks for your response though.

Nice poll... where is my "i voted today" sticker... oh well. I agree with the numbers and the comments here. Don't waste your R&D $$s on a camera when you can continue to improve...

1. Screen Quality
2. Size (mainly thickness but anything is fine)
3. Speed (granted I haven't laid hands on the 8700 w/ "Intel inside")
4. Improved BT capability (data)
5. Some small OS improvements (minor PIM stuff, better ringtone capability, file types, built in Office apps, etc)

My 2 cents

Why? oh why do people do this? What a friggin waste of a thread, waste of bandwidth and disk space...

read: IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN PEOPLE!

Why don't you search back through for the other 70 or so threads about adding cameras to blackberry's?

See you all in March maybe...

You never know, but I doubt there will ever be a camera in a real BlackBerry. But maybe in a future RIM-derived product that works with the BlackBerry network (read: a new brand line designed for consumers -- like "BerryMedia")

The same thing was said about Bluetooth. Then Bluetooth wireless addressbook synchronization. And Bluetooth keyboards. Rumors were posted that Bluetooth modem will now be added to an upcoming BlackBerry OS release. Now somebody that seems to be an insider, posted a message about RIM is talking about figuring out how to securely add a memory upgrade slot to a BlackBerry (read: memory card such as MicroSD), knowing that it is a sensitive issue. (Business usage apply: hospital diagnosis databases, real estate databases, GPS maps, etc)

You never know... 5 years ago, we would have never imagined BlackBerry where they are now! This stuff isn't going to happen in the next 5 years though, anyway. Cameras may just be a fad though, but some fads have persisted -- many people thought text messaging and Internet on a cellphone was a fad back in the 90's. It still more-or-less is for some people who don't need a BlackBerry, but we all agree that such features are "here to stay".

www.blackberry.com was even redesigned to appeal more to consumers, since the consumer segment for BlackBerry usage is exploding.

I agree with you -- It will never happen -- But spun differently, I think it could happen differently through a twist of events 5 years from now, like through another model line derived from RIM, separate from business BlackBerry models. At the very least, it is easier to imagine a Bluetooth connection between a BlackBerry and a Bluetooth-enabled camera.

And my purpose for creating this poll was to get documentated numbers to give to a certain blogger who, on his blog site really pushes this subject. As the poll currently shows the majority don't want it. But I'll wait until the poll closes.

Thanks for your Help.
