Default 3G off but WI-FI on, Is there a way?

Please Login to Remove!

i only have 150mb of 3g data allowance a month i thought when i hit 130mb i could turn off 3g but have it still auto connect to wifi when im at home

i tried going to Mobile Network and then Turn Off Data.. but this also disables my Wi Fi

is there a way to have 3G data disables so my emails are not been pushed and i cant browse untill i get home and are covered by wi fi or will i have to manually turn "turn on/off data" all the time?

thanks

i "think" to what you want you would need to (1) go to Manage Connections, (2) uncheck Mobile Network while you don't want 3G data to be received, and (3) check Wi-Fi (only) when you have wi-fi coverage and want to use it.

i am afraid (2) will preclude use of your phone, and i've also heard (and think i have perceived) that blackberries gobble up more battery juice faster while running in wi-fi mode for data.

good luck

If you go to Services Status under Manage Connections it will show you what connections it is using. Currently I have 3G and WIFI on and my Bold says that Blackberry service is using the WIFI.
