Default What did I get myself into???

Yeah... new guy.

Just took an IT job with a company out of New York, but I live and work in Colorado.

The week prior to my arrival, there was an Exchange Migration done to swing servers and domains... still not sure what all was done, but it's been chaos ever since.

Soooo many issues with BB's, users not able to reply, meeting req's coming in as e-mails (not able to accept... not even an option), messages, calendar items & contacts being duplicated, just general tom foolery. They had to setup and install a BES locally (waiting on an MPLS Net to go in next weekend). Basically, this migration should NOT have happened, but oh well, too late.

EVERYONE has been effected, IT's getting their asses handed to them, I was chewed out by a Senior VP on my first day, etc.

So, there you have it... I'm becoming the BB guru, trial by fire.

I've been in IT since '99, but sometimes wish I had gotten into carpentry
I was in the US Coast Guard for 10 years, and have sailed through every body of water except for the Med, and the "Ditch"
I am an avid skier, but have also taken up snow boarding (knuckle-dragging)
I am a Sagitarius, but do not believe in horoscopes
I like to take long walks on the beach, but I live in the mountains

I hate BlackBerry's

I understand your frustration, and I'd like to let you know that it's not your fault. Why? Because the migration started before you came to the job. Now, there is a forum specifically for BES administrators here, and you should take advantage of it to see if you can get some help in resolving these issues.

Thanks all.

Yeah, it's been a whirlwind of activity around here. Big realestate transactions, resort developement, etc.

It's all good, I wanted it... I think.

Anywho, thanks again, I will be spending a plethora of time here.

You could always replace 'F' with something like "Sam Hill" (reference: Sam Hill (euphemism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) ) :P

thanks, and no worries. I sometimes forget that I still cuss like a sailor.

I would have otherwise titled it "What in the wide world of sports did I get myself into???"

P.S. The Ditch = The Panama Canal.
