Default BES 4.1 and LCS

Please Login to Remove!

I have configured the BBIM_1 and started the service, as well, I have pushed the Enterprise Messenger out to the test blackberry. The problem I am getting is when I try to log in to the Enterprise Messenger I get the error:

You have selected an invalid address.

I am not sure what is wrong. I have tried using the username with and without the domain included.

Anyone have any ideas?

Default New Error

My error message has no changed. It now reads:

Server Error (314).

Anyone know what this is or how I can find out?

Not sure if it would get this far or this error, but is your BES a 2003 SP2 server? It needs to be 2003, I believe SP1 minimum.

Welcome to the forums!

Have you searched the BTSC for this error? Do you recall how you had it configured? What IM clients do you use in your office?

There should be a BBIM log in among the daily BES logs. Have a look in there for the line corresponding to the on-device error (when I last looked at this it was "onLoginResponse", but that was at least one service pack ago). That line should have "RESULT = <something>" in it.

What's the value of "something"? It should be 0 if it worked - if it's not the value might help diagnose the problem. Is it the same when you try and login both with and without the domain?

Hi guys.

Logs?....erm...were do i find logs? i haven't a BBIM folder either.
Have been 'given' this responibility so don't totally know how it all works but working with logs sounds like a key place to start. Docs are hard to find too.

We are using Office Communicator 2005 on LCS 2005 server.
cwa.company.com
port:443
HTTPS
1200000

Defaults i think.

Service LCS/Office Communicator = Running
Installed on BB ok, entered the sip address and domain names in all possible combinations but the BB just says to enable service.

You will find your logs in the following location, well it's where mine are anyway:

C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs

on your BES itself. In that folder you will find a set of folders dated daily, inside each are the log files for the day in question.

Ensure you login as:
-------------------
e-mail address
domain\user name
password

I would recommend in your service books, you delete DESKTOP [BBIM] on your BB and send the service books again from the BES server...

Try then.
