Default News of 7250 on Sprint yet??

Please Login to Remove!

I'm a new forum member, current T650 owner. I'm convinced I need to move to the 7250. More on that in another post. However, I'm with Sprint and that's not likely to change in the near future (company is actually branding a SPCS solution).

All I've found in searching the forum is a vague rumor ("I heard from my telecom staff...") that the 7250 was coming to SPCS. That makes sense since it's already on Verizon, and it's CDMA based. But, like most mobile customers, I feel MY provider is a little slow to get me the newest devices (don't we all feel that way?).

So what have you heard? Has anyone talked with a SPCS corporate rep to get more details? I'd like to get them to my entire team (company has a BES already), as I'm convinced the quality will exceed the T650, even if the ability to customize doesn't. Thoughts??

Hi--

I was told by my internal company rep (since we are moving everyone to Sprint/T-mobile to cut costs), that the 7250 is scheduled to be released "sometime" in May from Sprint.

If I hear anything more firm, I will let you know. I'd appreciate the same from everyone else, as I will likely be going after the Sprint 7250.

Thanks, I'm working on my guys to tell me too. We're actually a national branding partner (SPCS with our brand on it), but getting to the right guy will probably take longer than this forum.

Here it is, straight from WES, Sprint will have the Bb 7250 in July in conjunction with the Nextel merger and acceptance of the 7520.

We're very interested in this as well- can you ask again about this?

Thanks,

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320)

Last I've seen from our SPCS corporate rep is mid-June. Can't give you any level of certainty, but more than one source seem to point to the same date...

Thanks. Based on this post:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showpost.php?p=46179&postcount=6

it looks like the merged company will have the 7520 (Nextel) and the 7250. (SPCS), Great! Nothing like a little merger confusion- could RIM have planned these model numbers any better? (Maybe RIM knew something we didn't way in advance.....). What do you bet the reps in the stores get this confused and end up giving out the Nextel device instead of the Cingular (even though you could't mistake them once you saw them)

Also there was some discussion earlier about the 7250 on SPCS not being able to to run thrid party apps?

SPCS works off of the 1900mHz CDMA where as Verizon uses the other avaiable feq... I have a friend working for SPCS and he said it's coming at the end of this year.

Now they are saying we can order the units this coming Monday. In addition, supposedily the unit is dual band -- which allows for roaming on the Verizon network!
