Default How to take images off Device Memory - NOT memory card

Please Login to Remove!

This has me totally stumped!
In Camera - Options, you can select to store images on Memory Card or Device Memory

However, when you have any stored on Device Memory, how do you take them off?

When I plug in my phone, only 1 drive appears and that is the memory card (In My Computer view in Win XP)

Also, when I use DM 6, and choose Pictures under Media Sync, it still does not show the images which are on the device memory
Why offer the option to store on Device Memory, when you cannot access it?

Surely I am missing something here!

Saw that option alright, but is that the only way to do it? One image at a time?

If it hasn't changed, it's the same story with moving messages on the phone...it's not possible to select multiple messages....so it's browse to file A location, move File A to new location, browse to file B location, move file B to new location etc. etc. etc.

... Or look for the files app and use that to navigate the folders to the files. But moving one at a time is the only way on the device.

I've never used it myself, but I thought "Desktop Manager With Media Manager" was here just for that.

OP is referring to DM6 which does not have media manager. If you still use DM5 and media manager is working for you, then that's a different story.

So what are the best options of messing with the device memory if upgrade to DM6? RIM has clearly pulled the rug from under our feet again!

There's no workaround, because it's really of no consequence to most people. Just buy a media card.

The only option I can think of for accessing media files in main memory on the device from the computer is with an old version of desktop manager that includes the Roxio media manager. However, the that media manager was very buggy and a problem for a lot of people. If you can find and download an old version of desktop manager with Roxio and can't get it to work, my advice is don't spend any time troubleshooting, just ditch it. Overall I think your best solution is to email the files to yourself, even if you have a lot of files and it takes you days to finish. (But by all means do a full backup in case you have a catastrophe before you finish.)

Thumbs up Re: How to take images off Device Memory - NOT memory card [SOLVED]

I had this problem and was stumped too!

Decided to upgrade my Blackberry Desktop Manager from version 6.0 to 6.1 and voila - it worked.... all pictures from the Blackberry device were then sync'd
