Okay the day that i was waiting for finally came mobipocket released version 5.1 which allows for ebooks with indexs. I have been needing a medical and technical dictionary for ages. Check it out i still cant belive it is free after all the hassel i used to go though to make j2me files out of text files with tequilacat.

god im loving this it now allows you to syncronize your notes on a book and convert any file i have a 4 megabite oxford dictionary on my 8700c

I’m receiving a message that says: Blackberry Install Reminder says “Do not forget to select Mobi Reader Lite in the list of applications to install.”

Ok, I've downloaded it and installed it. When I click on Install new device -> Blackberry, it seems to detect my 8700R then gives the message: Blackberry Install Reminder says “Do not forget to select Mobi Reader Lite in the list of applications to install.”

Where the files to install onto the Blackberry? I've looked in the directories and it certainly doesn't put anything into the Application Loader.

What am I missing?

you have to close blackberry desktop and then it will open a new instance of it when you go to the menu of mobipocket and click install new device

Alright, I've shutdown both the BB Desktop and Mobipocket. Started Mobipocket, it detected the BB and asked to install but didn't do anything afterwards. It didn't launch anything afterwards. I tried to Install new Device -> Blackberry Device as well with the same results.

I've even uninstalled and reinstalled this program without any success...

make sure the device manager is running in the system tray but blackberry desktop is closed. Then open mobipocket and then plug in your blackberry and go to install device that is what i had to do

I stumbled a crossed the alx and cod file for DM upload to your blackberry here http://www.mobipocket.com/en/Downloa...LinuxStep1.asp but it’s still giving me the same message.

Gave that a shot too, which would make sense if it worked, but it didn't... this application clearly doesn't like me... or rather my BB doesn't like it! :P

Going to try the files that MrKyoo found next...

Yep... you're right... same problem still. Not quite certain what the problem is exactly with this program....

I don't know if the program has worked for you previously but according to their supported devices list, (Firmware 3.7 or higher.
Handhelds 5800, 6500, 6700, 6200, 7100, 7200, 7500 series can be upgraded to firmware 3.7 if needed except 5810/5820, 6750, and 6710 (with only 8MB of flash) devices.), I don't see 870x on there. Maybe they just haven't updated that list yet. Good luck.

Update:

It was a firewall issue. First make sure you allow the "reader.exe" to access the Internet in your firewall. After doing so, Mobipocket Reader downloaded the Mobi Reader Lite into the BB.
