Default 8330 with OS 4.5.0.97 and saving a doc

Please Login to Remove!

I upgraded to 4.5.0.97 on my vzw 8330
I want to save a doc that was sent to me as an attachment
I dont get an option to save. Only to open. I do have docs to go on my BB.
any advice?
I already tried from the email itself and going through the menu and no save option. And I tried to highlight the attachment before open and no save option. And after opening the attachment, no save option in that menu either. I also don't see an option for download attachment which some people said their might be also

thanks in advance

just a word document. I tried with one someone sent me via email and I couldn't save it. Someone said that maybe it was too large, so I sent to myself with minimal text in it and still no luck

What is th file extention? Was it created with Microsoft Word.

You might want to see if you have BlackBerry Attachment Service installed. Plug your BB into your computer and then run the application loader look for the BlackBerry Attachment Loader.

Wirelessly posted

Try clicking "edit with docs to go". Then when it opens, I move the cursor to the right a couple spaces and down a couple lines, hit menu, and I get a "save as" option. Hope that helps you. Must be a problem with docs to go on .97

If you update your OS to version 4.5 it will be installed. If you have already upgraded and it's not installed, then you need to go to your BlackBerry Desktop Manager and click on the Application Loader and check the boxes for it to be installed.

Otherwise you can purchase it from DataViz.

You will need to upgrade to O 4.5, Sprint hasn't released it yet for thr 8330, so you will ned to find a beta. just google "8330 4.5.0.97" you should be able to find it.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend that a new user use a beta release of the OS. And it's not necessary when there are official releases from Verizon (.77) and Alltel (.89) that will work fine.

I had issue's with .77 on my personal BB, and I am using .89 on my Work BB nothing really wrong with .89 (Other then my BBM buddies dissappearing, but that could have me changing IT Policies) but .97 is more recent and there is really not much of a difference from an official release to a Beta, I ran .77 for over a month before it was declared "official" and you have to perform the same steps (deleting vendor.xml) to get an OS that isn't from your carrier installed.

So I have run all 3 .77, .89, .97 so far .97 has been the least troublesome for me.

I am running .97 on my 8330, no issues with Docs to Go and saving files. I also keep a blank xls, ppt and doc file on my media card so I can easily create a new file on my BB.
