Default Wanted: Free RSS Reader for Torch

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Is anyone using a good, free RSS reader on their Torch that they would recommend?

I hear that Viigo doesn't work well on the Torch and I don't like the fact that the Social Feeds application truncates some feeds that Viigo used to deliver completely, it doesn't show which articles have been read, and it doesn't allow you to save articles.

Thanks in advance,

J

Check App World or the Aftermarket section.

I should have also mentioned that I do most of my rss feed reading on the subway, so I need an app that downloads the feeds for later reading.

Thanks!

Doesn't the torch come with an RSS reader in the social feeds app? Have you tried that one?

i recommend google reader.
on the torch it actually opens up a page similar to how it's displayed on iphone/android and is pretty easy

you can also download the google app and launch from there.

and the positive there is if you read it on the BB it's "read" if you go on a PC and check you feeds as well

thanks.

treatz, does the google reader work in offline mode - where it downloads articles so you can read them on the subway, for instance? When I took a look at it, it looked like it worked through the browser and required a data connection.

ju..., per my original post, yes I've tried it and it has some good points but doesn't do some things I would like it to do.

Sorry
It does require a data connection.
I thought it pulled the articles in.

Why not use the built in one in Social Feeds, its pretty good. Or Viigo.

i've been trying out berryreader, aka bereader, and although it's a paid app, it was looking like it had everything i needed. then i hit a show stopper when i tried to switch feeds while on the subway - you can't! so this leaves me either with one feed to read on the subway (unacceptable) or using the "all feeds" view which is a giant laundry list of articles (borderline acceptable if the app was free, unacceptable at $10).

any further suggestions?

does anyone know if Feeds has this issue? it promises "Ability to read items while offline" but i need to make sure it's all feeds before i fork over any $.

dougboy, social feeds doesn't meet all my requirements per my op and viigo requires a double-click on each article after it's opened to re-size the text.

thanks,

j
