I can't believe I am not able to do basic things like edit my address book, write emails and SMSs and perform other tasks on my PC when connected via the software. I've had many more basic phones that let you do this. All the replies I've seen say do it with Outlook but I don't have that or use it, nor Outllook Express. I use Mozilla Thunderbird. Is there no way to connect my Curve 8520 to my pc and edit the address book which didn't synch properly with the SIM so all the numbers and names are shortened? Very frustrating for such a good product.

I also use Thunderbird on my MacBook Pro and sync contacts and calendar with Google. Syncs with my Windows XP and Windows 7 machines as well. Works well for me.

There is an add on to T-Bird for contacts - Zindus - might also be worth looking into.

Outlook is the primary tool since most BB users are businesses and government agencies which have a very high number (almost exclusive) of Outlook users.

You talk about the address book not syncing properly with your SIM. You do realize that contacts saves to the SIM will only take 1 phone number and 1 email address, right?
