Nothing new and nothing bad from what I can see....probably isn't worth the hassle to upgrade from 107.

I have been using .108 since last night and have noticed no real differences.
However for some time now I have been recieving uncaught error screens. Does anyone else get these or is it just cause my Pearl is red and from Mexico?
I have done a clean sweep and new install. I have beyond411, BBweather, Googlemaps, Gtalk, and Gmail. My guess is that it is one of these apps that is doing it. Can anyone concur?

Upgraded five 8100's as well as two of the 8800's in our fleet and all is wonderful. Maybe more responsive. Maybe its just us. Also added Opera 4. Gorgeous!!!

For some reason when I try to update from .107 to .108 BDM asks me if I want to down grade and indicated that the software on my phone is newer than the one I am trying to install. Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks. I thought it may have been that; however for some reason I had to delete the vendor file two times. Perhaps I backed up after I deleted it the first time. O well-I am currently updating to .108 and it seems to be taking a unusually long time compared to my past updates. I will have to wait and see how it goes.

I don't even care if 108 one has bugs. It MUST be better than 107. I was doing multiple battery pulls some days, and even had voice dialing stop working one time with that version.
4.2.1.107 was by far the worst I've experienced on the Pearl so far, and there was such a long amount of time between it and 108.
Sorry, just venting!

Gtalk is the app giving me that problem on 107. Seems to happen when I change status or sign out.

I have been using 108 for two days and haven't noticed anything different but it's always nice to have an update. They don't seem to be rolling out with updates as much anymore and with pearl 2 coming out soon it won't be to long that we will see one often. Hopefully we get a 4.3.1 update

The blackberry.alx file unlocks all the carrier themes. The lbs.alx file unhides the BB Maps and other apps that AT&T and other carriers hide.

I'm with ya'... I see soo many people talking about using severly outdated versions cause they are more stable... well, we arent adding any new features really so anything new that comes out must be fixing 'something'. Granted the multitap is messed up, but if you can live with that then I see absolutely no reason not to upgrade to the latest versions when they come out. Bottom line is one way or another it will be better than the previous in someway assuming they didnt add new features and those new features have bugs.
Anyone having trouble with recent os's I recommend to backup, wipe with jlcmder, then restore your dbs. I do this after every couple os upgrades and never experience problems and I've had my Pearl since the day they were released.

I have a T-Mobile Pearl, and have been using Cingular 4.2.0.73 for quite some time for several reasons:
-Newer OSes aren't any more stable in my experience.
-Newer OSes unexplicably switched the T-Mobile Zen theme from a list menu to a grid menu.
-Newer OSes have a 10-second screen shutoff delay after going into keylock mode. On earlier OSes it shuts off in less than a second, which is far more practical.
-.73 doesn't have the problem of earlier versions where someone would call you and they wouldn't be able to hear you for several seconds.
-.73 doesn't have the multitap issue.
-.73 doesn't have the SMS message not queuing problem.
I think that's a good list of reasons not to upgrade.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
I know YMMV with these things, but my pearl is at least 25% speedier with this OS. Much more responsive than my .107.
