I inherited a BES 4.1 and the services were being run under the main domain admin 'Administrator' account, rather than as the BESAdmin service account, so I changed them to run under BESAdmin... everything looked ok, all services started fine. But then I deleted the old domain admin's profile off the box & now the users can't send or receive messages. Looking at the server manager the last connection time for the devices was just before I made the changes!!! Doh.
I have read the RIM document (after the event) about how to change the service account & everything seems in order, except for where it mentions exporting the registry key for the current user, ie the one that installed the software initially, which I can't do as the local profile doesn't exist any more.
If I just re-install over the top, logged on as the service account user, will all my current settings, policies etc be preserved, or do I need to wipe the lot and start again from scratch?
btw. I did not know you can delete built in domain Administrator account!? I guess you went where no man ever been before... but if that is the account then you may have some bigger issues on your network then just BB users... http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/searc...00%20198536225
