How did you manage that? Loading the new OS wipes out your enterprise info?

I have no clue. At first it was not activated, then out of the blue everything sync'd up. I was about to call my email admin when suddenly I saw the system syncing. I verified that I am on the .53 build once it sync'd up.

Loaded .53 yesterday afternoon, and have no complaints. It seems a little bit snappier overall, and my reboot time after a battery pull is less than 10 minutes.

It did lock up once last night, but I was trying to see how many apps I could run simultaneously, so I wouldn't necessarily blame that on the OS.

Ahhhhhhhh. No wonder my DM did not show update. Guess I'll have to wait for Verizon to release the Wireless Update or post to their site. Any word on a timeline for that?

Yes. If you update your Tour w/ new OS (and according to post on this site BES BB's can't) you will have to perform a new enterprise activation.

I have BES and I downloaded OS .53 just fine. I knew I would have to reactivate on my enterprise server I was just wondering how 05yellowGT didn't have to.

I'm not sure what I could have done differently. We use rackspace email at work and I am using the BES service to sync my Tour. I followed the standard update steps. The BM backed up my phone, uploaded the .53 software, restored the backup and the phone rebooted. When I first booted I had the activation icon on the far left of the main BB screen. After about 1 minute the phone began the sync process with the BES server without having to get a new code issued by my IT admin via the Rackspace control panel.

I thought that I was going to have to get a new activation code but it just worked for me.

BTW, does it retain the sprint theme, or will it load a verizon theme?

Thanks,

I used this file- 9630AMEA_PBr4.7.1_rel105_PL4.1.0.65_A4.7.1.53.exe and did not delete any files prior to installing to 9630. After I downloaded the file, I unpacked it and executed it on my laptop. The file ran and registered itself with the Blackberry Desktop app. Plug in your phone and the desktop will backup your Blackberry and install the update, then reinstall your back up. Most programs will continue to work, however you will probably have to log in when necessary as it seems the log-in file or cookie does not get backed up. I was quite painless. The update seems to work very well and yes it retains all of the Sprint prog's and branding. Good Luck!

Any idea what the changes are for this new OS? I plugged my BB in to my computer two nights ago and it went through all kinds of motions for a half hour that led me to believe it did the upgrade. When I go to Options->About it shows me still on 4.1.7.40 and when it's plugged in to the computer it tells me there are no new updates. I thought maybe I could look for a new or updated feature or menu to tell me if I actually have .53 and it's just telling me I have .40 Ideas?

Unplugged my tour Tuesday morning and and of day three now only down 50 percent. New OS definatley helped battery life.

I can't seem to find any indication that VZW has released this update. And Wireless Upgrade says nothing either... can someone clarify this for me. I don't wanna update my OS until I know VZW has officially released it... Just want to make sure it's the right OS and what not I guess.

This is a leaked OS not official release think the people early on that got it through just plugging in DM got lucky. That didn't work for me I had to go find and download the OS. So if you are looking for official than this isn't it. But if you are wanting .53 then follow that thread posted above.

Connect BB by USB, connect by VPN into your company network and open Desktop Manager. It should do the Enterprise Activation by wired connection without needing to get the EA code from your administrator.

Did it today when upgrading to .53 and it worked flawlessly.
