In case anyone here might happen to know, is there any cost-free way to add support for reading Chinese characters and for pinyin input on a US T-mobile Pearl 8120?

One way that works is to install the device firmware/software from Asia telco like CSL/PCCW/SingTel/China Mobile. But Chinese firmware have 'lower' version so some of the bugs may show up since it is an older version.

I have it working to read and enter chinese on my tmobile 8120, but then the wifi and @hotspot service crash all the time so I back to what tmobile has for now. Hopefully in 2-3 months there is an update in Asia and I will do it again.
