Default Sith_Apprentice To Create Hybrid 5.0 OS

Please Login to Remove!

Be sure to follow Sith_Apprentice on Twitter (http://twitter.com/BlackBerrySith).

In exchange for Twitter followers, he is going to create Hybrid OS Builds to get the best of all the 5.0 (and some 4.6) features.

Here are the highlights from Twitter:

Quote:
@repaircellular you get 50 people following me and sending me a tweet, I will work on it
Quote:
Ok, so since we are on pace to make it here is what's going on. I am going to hack the OSs apart, the goal is threaded sms/BBM5/tabs/on Bold
Quote:
Ok, So I am at 280 followers now. I will begin work on the Bold Hybrid Tonight. Send me Tweets on what you want and from what version.
Quote:
If i get 500 followers, I will do the same for the Jav. 750 and I will try and merge the Bold/8900 hybrid with the Storm to get that working

I have been creating and using my own hybrids on 4.5 devices...Mostly combining files from 8310 and 8330 OS. Works well if you know what you are doing.

I never heard anything from this Twitter campaign. Not sure if a hybrid of any sort was ever finalized and released by Sith.

You really dont need the hybrid now. Most apps are starting to work and BBM 5.0 is slated for release very very soon.

I check out BBHybrids.net from time to time. They are continually putting out hybrids whether an official release was available or not.

5.0.0 still has quirks that 4.6.1 core cures. All I'm missing is the threaded SMS but no biggie.
Had trouble using "delete prior" in the SMS function with 5.0.0
Had the usual ATT block of generic browser in 5.0.0
All 3rd party apps are working perfectly.
