Default Password question

Please Login to Remove!

I am fairly new to BB.....In the old WM world, I seem to remember, if you put a password in it, it would keep asking you for it from time to time what the password was......with no way to go back to a no password set up.

I see in the security part of options, the passoword can be disabled....

Is everyone happy with a password on thier BB?

Can you disable it if needed?

Do you only have to enter the passowrd on start-up or periodically?

I just need a little (possibly unwarranted) assurance.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums! You can disable the password. If you have the password enabled, you will be prompted to enter it every time it powers on. You can also set what time it locks. i.e set it for 5 minutes, so every 5 minutes the device is idle it will lock and prompt you for a password.

If you are on a company BES. They may force a password policy. If they do, you cannot disable it.

Password works great and as stated you can disable it as well as control to some degree the idle time before re-entry of password is required

Thanks for the quick reply.....

If it can be disabled.....there is nothing to use.....and a good idea.

Thanks again.....
