Default Can't use the "R" key to reply to messages any more?

Please Login to Remove!

I just switched to the 9700 from the 8900 last night, and one thing I've noticed is that I can't just go over a SMS message or Email and hit "R" to start a reply. Anyone know how to fix this? I hate having to click to open a message.

'R' still works. Have you tried a battery pull.

No, it only works when you're IN THE MESSAGE, not while highlighting it in the message list. That was changed in 5.0....

Yah, I hate that. Dumb in my opinion. There's no option to change it back? All this does is slow me down.

Hitting R works when I'm in the message list on my 9700. What OS version are you using? I'm using 5.0.0.593.

I've been doing it, at least in email. I don't do SMS, but the OP says it doesn't work for email or SMS.

Now waiting to hear if battery pull corrects the problem.

Battery Pull didn't do anything. OS is 5.0.0.330. I can't hit R for email or SMS on the message list. I have the message folder where my texts and emails are put together in one folder. I'm not a fan of this new SMS look, it's more like how BB Messenger was a few OS's ago.

Try upgrading the OS. Check the sticky thread at the top of this forum for the latest.

Works for me too on other messages, but not on an SMS message while in the list. Has never worked for me on any version of 5.0

I rarely use sms. Its likely due to the new sms formatting. It does work with bbm messages and emails/pins.

Ya - I figured you may have missed the part about SMS...and I'd agree that it's probably due to the continuous SMS threading.
