Hi all,

A quick one, we now all know that in order to support OTASL (aka Wireless software upgrade), we require that:-

(1) wireless service provider supports it
(2) BES version 4.1.5 or later
(3) BlackBerry handheld version 4.5 or later

My question is, once the BES user has click on the Advanced Options > Wirelss Upgrade > Check for Upgrades and initiated the download of the software, what is the transport path the device takes? My guess is that it's the MDS-CS, but i am not very sure. Anybody knows? BTW, I've read all the Wireless software upgrade and as usual very brief and no details on the transport mechanism...

I am pretty sure this can happen over WAN and WiFi, see the following IT Policies:

Disallow Patch Download Over WAN
Disallow Patch Download Over Roaming WAN
Disallow Patch Download Over International Roaming WAN
Disallow Patch Download Over WiFi
