Makes sense that those devices are at the end of their run. Been around a long time, as cell phones and BBs go.

In the UK the 8900 Curve (javelin) is already discontinued on Vodafone, I guess things move on. I liked my one.

Wait, does this mean that AT&T will simply no longer offer the Bold and the Curve for sale, or that the network will no longer support these devices? If the latter is the case, then it's time to put them up for sale.

Carriers support devices that haven't been sold in years. AT&T just isn't selling it. They still support the 8310, and 7000 series devices that haven't been sold in many years.

though the sentences pasted below are a little vague, i have seen no indication at&t will stop supporting bold or other blackberries currently operating on its network. i think at&t appreciates its blackberry customers and wouldn't leave them in a lurch. and i continue to hold out hope (perhaps naively) at&t will hook up with rim to offer a new bold-sized device that runs on at&t's 4g network once it's rolled out

De la Vega also said that AT&T going forward with plans to support smartphones running on operating systems from Apple, RIM BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7, along with HTML 5 support.

He didn't elaborate, however, on specific devices from each OS.

It's bound to happen. I'm glad they stuck around with the 8900 as long as they did. I think that was my favoritest BB of all!

So... remaining stock will be 'clearance rack' special pricing?
