Got an email about the update and then connected the phone to the PC for the desktop manager to "look" for update. Found it and installed. Took about 20 minutes to run the update over the desktop manager. Now have the option for "Wireless Update" under options and advanced options. Man, I'd hate to do a wireless update on this one and see how long it takes. LOL. Playing with phone now to see if I notice anymore changes.

the only changes i noticed are a new "direct send folder" and a "sports and entertainment" folder

I have the direct send folder as well but I don't see the sports and entertainment folder on my phone. I checked all sub folders but could not locate that one. Also, I can't access the "Direct Send Messages" folder. What exactly does it refer to? I tried sending info from my wifes phone via DC but the info goes into the Messages folder.

I did the update and had no problems ... I am not sure how long it took but it did definitely take at least 20-30 min for the update to complete. The phone works great xxx8230; no problems with sms messages and they also fixed the problem with the Bluetooth and the voice dialing, and emails that are sent in HTML format actually will now show the pictures and emails correctly. I have the Direct Send Messages in my Downloads folder but am not sure what it is for either but I have noticed that every time some one connects with me on the DC I get a new icon on the top of the screen and there DC info in the general message folder but nothing in the Direct Send Messages folder so I am not sure what it is for.

well we finally got the fix for the 8350i everything is working fine for now

it seems that were the DC messages are supposed to go... but they still don't they show up in your messages

I just did my upgrade useing the D.M. and mine still reads v 4.6.1.112
it took about 30mins. and it did change my theme. any ideas?

I am unable to locate the update also...went to device manager and it isn't showing an update available for me.

Ok guys, Did the update fix the SMS or not? I've been on BBsupport, Sprint Support, Nextel Support and have gotten VERy different answers from EVERYone I've talked to. Seems kind of strange that a Phone MADE for messaging can't seem to message. I was just wondering what the update fixed before taking the time to install it. Thanks for any info.
