Default IT policy makes me unable to receive MMS

Please Login to Remove!

Im really in the dark here...

We have set up a pretty strong Policy which now makes us unable to receive MMS's

(The default policy makes it work without any problems)

Is there anyone who can help me with which policies needs to be enabled in order to work the MMS functionallity proper

Click In BlackBerry Manager -> BlackBerry Domain -> Global tab -> Edit Properties -> IT Policy , in IT Policies select the restrictive one -> Properties -> Common Policy Group -> Disable MMS has to be set to false.

Just to be clear... were you ever able to receive? Often MMS is disabled by the network unless requested otherwise.

I have to agree with Jadey. On the 3 or 4 times I've seen this, it has always been an issue on the telco side (usually a feature was disabled on the account for that line).

I haven't tested the MMS restrictions in BES. Therefore I cannot comment on that.

Well... sounds like you're just going to have to work through policy settings. Create a test policy, and start changing options and testing.
Without seeing your whole policy it is hard to ascertain where the issue is. Also, I am no expert on MMS, but... my guess is that the messages attempt to use the telco network to download content to the device (?) so maybe if you have "allow other message services" set to FALSE (i.e. routing all "browser" traffic through MDS) you might have a problem. Not sure at all, but that would be where I'd start.

Have you set "allow other browser services" to false? This must be configured to true. Else MMS will not work.

Yes... i have set that as well.

Ive got it working after blindshooting policies

I needed peer-to-peer and something like wap configuration enabled.

I cant remember exactly and maybe only 1 of them would have done the trick, however now i can finally receive MMS as well

Sound really strange dont you think?

IT Policy > Security Policy Group > Firewall Block Incoming Messages
You probably have MMS selected here.
