exactly. And it may seem we're caught up on devices, but I view the curve as the best of both worlds between my treo (multimedia capability, camera, etc..) and the rock solid stability of the blackberry platform with the push email. For me, its not a matter of me wanting the newest and best, but I finally see a device that I feel can give me exactly what I've been looking for.

I've been told the CDMA Curve will be late Q1/early Q2 and will not be a global device. No word on WiFi or GPS; We'll see if this holds true...

I have the Pearl.
I only asked him cause I knew it was a question a lot of consumers have...not because I wanted one.

I work for VZW, and often speak directly with RIM reps.

I found the keyboard on the 8830 to be the best keyboard. Better than the 7250 and 8703e I used before.

Really? Aside from being hard to read (verizon's version with the blue blacklight) I thought it was a bit cramped compared to the 8703e's keyboard. The 7250 has the widest keyboard ever. I think the curves keyboard is wider spaced and would be easier to use than the 8830's.

Everyone likes different things. I personally found the 88xx keyboard to be usable but worse then the 83xx and 87xx series.

the 8830 keyboard is by FAR the easiest to type on. My buddies have 8310s and its much harder to type on.

Once you get used to it, u dont notice a difference....but in the initital stage of typing on a new phone...the 8830 is the most user-friendly.

2) the keyboard. For me, its not the key size, its that dammed blue lighting. I can't read the keys. Who the hell thought that THAT was a good idea? I am going to order a replacement black keyboard and that should fix that.

!!!
The replacement keyboards?

The blue light really bugs me when I'm somewhere the keyboard isn't well lit (which is kind of opposite of the purpose). If I can buy a keyboard with the regular black on white keys that would be great. Any hints as to where to look for one?

I knew I would get some heat for saying that.

For Me it is 8830 the the 7250. I made the most mistakes with the 8703e. The Pearl is way to small for me. I am not into whittling my fingers.

have 2.5 yr old treo 650 w vzw. after lots of research, a while ago i concluded curve would best. but no hard rumors. then heard 755 was coming in sept. when that was delayed, really hoped that curve would come, but instead its pearl. can't use it. wierd keys, screen is small. tried samsung i760, decided slider is not my way to go. want keys out front for 1 handed operations.

755 is just released, and have no info if curve is really coming. On treo forum, and engadget, there are always leaks from vzw marketing docs that are pretty much true on what is coming, just maybe off on timing. (last one had the voyager, 755, etc.) It is usually about 3-6 months in advance.

Since we haven't seen any of these for a curve, can we assume that if it comes at all, it would have to be at least 6 mos away? If so, 755 is going to be in my hands.

an 8830 would be great if it only had a camera!

I agree. When you start to hear Q1 2008 as a release date and nothing more firm than that, it is easy to believe that Q1 will eventually turn into Q2 without a CMDA Curve.

Now that we got some info on a 9000 seriers by BGR, how can there be
no info on a Verizon Curve? unless they really planning on skipping it.
