Hi folks,
New here, so please be gentle
My other half had a 7100v which "gave up the ghost", so she upgraded to a newer blackberry.
I'm trying to see if I can find a way to salvage the 7100v, as I used it for a few months previosuly and liked it.
I have been searching this forum, and reading lots of useful info, but I;m still abit stuck and need advice.
When I power on the 7100v, it shows a blank white screen with the rotating egg timer, and doesn't get any further. I've left it overnight, and it's still the same next morning.
I have removed the battery & left it out for several hours, but same problem when I put it back in again.
I can power it off by holding the button on the top, but same problem when I power on again.
I'm told it always took about 15 or 20 minutes to start up.
I've read the excellent info on how to install a new OS, and how to use JL Cmder, etc, but am I stuck because it wont boot ?
As far as I can tell (from
HERE the latest software versions are
Pkg:4.1.0.556, App:4.1.0.377, Plt:1.8.0.154 (CINGULAR
From vodafone Ireland download section, I can only see:
package 4.0.2.49, App: 4.0.2.35, Plt 1.8.0.138
(and 2 other lower version numbers)
If I get this Pkg 4.0.2.49, will I be able to connect to the 7100v even though it doesnt seem to boot successfully ?
or,
Is the 7100v a dead duck since it won't boot past the egg timer screen ?
Thanks for any pointers.
