BlackPad was dropped way back before the PlayBook even launched... none of us here use code names once a name has been announced / product released

RIM does have legal teams looking out for the company (for instance when the original guts of the Bold 9000 showed up on eBay and almost sold for $5,000 RIM had eBay remove the lisitng), but to my knowledge they do not actively pay someone to browse forums for "feedback" they have real channels for that including their own forums.
