People would ask you for which device and/or which carrier since there won't be a single release date for it since carrier testing won't all take the same amount of time.

Good source?

geeez....well enough of the negative and here you go

RIM BlackBerry OS 5.0 - OSlist | PDAdb.net - Comprehensive Database of PDA, PDA Phone, Smartphone, PNA & Mobile Device Specifications

just look right next to release date....also down below there is a link to the list of devices that will have 5.0 at launch....it looks like the upgrade is only for those on 4.7....but not sure on that....just look at the site

What a load of poop!
This is no where near an official notification from RIM.
pdadb.net? Are you kidding me?
Even better... they quoted crackberry.com as a "related page".

I didn't say it can't be right. It might very well be right.

The point everyone here is trying to make is that unless the news comes from RIM, it's guesswork and speculation all around. (And even then, the date probably isn't written in stone.)

And no offense to you personally... but you "working for Sprint" doesn't really give you any additional credibility.

True....but how many things go leaked without the say so of any company....you really going to wait on RIM...I mean 5.0 is already leaked....so what the difference of RIM acutally saying "this is the date"

As for the sprint thing....im use to it....cleaning up the mess that was left before me....its alright i will keep doing my job better....

Unless it isn't.
It's a good a rumor as any.

I know that it will be official when it is released by a carrier.

Who cares? All I want is BBM 5 anyway. Every time I read an OS 5.0 thread the only thing that's different from 4.6 is a lot of apps won't work with it lol.

Most of the major apps that don't work are either a) developed by RIM and have internal builds that are compatible (a la Facebook, MySpace, et al), or b) developed by lazy people who won't take time to port their code to JDE 5.0 and test it on the simulators.
