Default Looking for some answers

Please Login to Remove!

I am looking for some answers. I just got a BB through cincinnati bell. Yes I know they suck but they are cheap right now. But I am wondering do I have to download the BB office tools to put a theme on my phone. This is actually my first BB an I'm looking for some guides that have already been through it all.

If any one knows anything please let me know.
Thanks,

Follow the link Zerog46 posted. A lot of useful information there.

I assume you're referring to Desktop Manager. You don't "have" to have it installed to install themes if you have a data plan. If there is an OTA link, you can go to the web address from your BlackBerry browser and download/install the theme directly on your device.

If you don't have a blackberry data plan and/or there is not an OTA link, you will need to install Desktop Manager and have both the .cod and .alx files for the theme (or any application for that matter) to install onto your device.

Thanks,

Cause at the moment I don't have a plan but I will be soon. I was waiting for this month to go up so that I can get an idea on how much. But I will check out those two because I'm still running the preloaded themes for it. An another question too. How would I get the photos that I have taken to automatically save to my SD card. I haven't been able to figure that out. I got some of the music downloaded to it but, I can't seem to get the setting. Also does any one know how to set up the BB messenger? Because I looked on the help index on my phone but I can't find any way to actually do it because alot of my friends have BBs and I can't seem to figure it out.

But thanks for anybody who can help! I am glad I found this website.

Thanks again,
Cincy cat

For storing pictures to ur microSD card:-

1) Open Camera.
2) Hit "Menu".. goto "Options"
3) Scroll down to "Store Pictures".. specify the location where you want to store the picture i.e. "On Media Card" or "In Device Memory". Also select the Folder where you want to store the pics.

For Music.. you can connect ur BB directly to your computer using the USB cable as a device of mass storage. Make sure your BB is setup to used as a mass storage device.

Options -> Media Card

Media Card Support : On
Encryption Mode: None
Mass Storage Mode Support: On
Auto enable mass storage mode when connected: Yes

What version of OS are you using? Is it the base version?

Yes that is what everything says. Its just the pictures that aren't coming up or being shown on the memory card unless I "move" them to it.

Finally about using BB messenger, you need to have a data plan. Once you have a data plan you can start adding your friends (assuming they have a data plan) your BB messenger contact list.

No problem... but I think majority of your questions should have been answered.

Yea unfortunately I bought the phone of a guy that I know for a hundred. An when I went to set up my e-mail to my phone it said the pin was already registered. Do I have to contact him and do I have to have a BB plan to use my e-mail?

yes you will need to have him release his PIN through the carrier. You will need the BlackBerry data plan for email.
