Default Password problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

This post is on behalf of a colleague, we are working abroad and she uses MTN, its a pay monthly service and is BIS. Personal phone so no corporate support :(

She travelled to the UK and purchased a Vodafone SIM which worked perfectly.

Now she is back and has put the MTN SIM back in again - the BB (8800) says "a new BlackBerry device has been detected..."

She clicks move email accounts and it asks for a password - she puts in her password but it says its wrong. Its definitely correct. She has changed the password on PC just in case but still no joy.

We have been in to the MTN shop but unfortunately they don't understand the problem.

Any help (or link to another thread if it exists) would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

James

the BIS service may have locked the email until she logs in to the BIS server to validate the email. this sometimes happens when a BB is changed. or the SIM is changed. Not always but sometimes. Some services also require a validation every few months.
I assume she pulled the battery already.

Please post if you find another solution or any of this corrects the problem.

Thanks for the reply tsac, she is going to call Vodafone in the UK and see if they have locked anything; probably something to do with them since it worked fine here and in the UK but only went wrong after putting MTN SIM back in.

Will keep you posted.

Did she change the BIS from MTN to Voda when she used the Voda SIM?
