Default App World - And Upgrading memory cards

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

I noticed that the memory card is used to store the purchases and downloads that I make from Appworld.

What do I when i buy a new media card for my 9700? Pop it in and go? What happens to my apps that are stored on the media card?

Thanks,

Apps are not stored on your Media card. They are stored in device memory.

I understand that - but the archived apps seem to be stored on my media card.

Should I copy them to my new media card - and will it seamlessly reintegrate, or should I go about it another way?

Cheers,

nononono - The applications that I downloaded from the appworld for some reason were stored on my media card - as well as on my device. I havent archived anything yet (I use the apps), but they are also on my media card (and in the device memory). My question is - when I toss the new media card into the berry, and its empty, will app world, or the device look for the old folders and apps that were on the previous media card?

What apps are you referring to? What exactly is showing on your media card?

Wirelessly posted

App world appears to store app information, and cod's for the apps that you download and install. Take a look.

Personally, I reformatted my card (for an unrelated reason) and didn't worrry about it.

EDIT: For what it's worth, there are .cod files and a file named meta.app in the application folder. I never archived. This is what app world did when I installed the application.

You can reinstall any app you purchased by going to My App World and log in. Your apps are all there and can reinstalled with no problem regardless of which media card you have in your phone.
