Default Thinking out of the box here.....

Please Login to Remove!

Right it doesn`t look like I can fix my mad spacebar. (it moves of it`s own accord) I`ve installed the latest OS (glad I know how to do that now) I`ve had it sat in a bag of rice over night and no result. So.... I`m thinking out of the box here now... Do you think I could get myself one of these little flexable keyboards you can get and use that when I`m not on the move? Could that be done? With that idea in mind, can anyone come up with another idea? I can live with it if I have to, I can`t afford a new phone or expensive repair so I`d just like to see if I can find a way around this somehow.....

Not sure what you have done so far, but you could search youtube for disassemble video for your model and attempt a keyboard cleaning. Not even sure it's possible but worth the effort to search. Or possibly a keyboard replacement.

Overnight is not enough. 3-5 days is a minimum. It is either a hardware problem or it got wet and damaged.

Oh right I didn`t realise it needed to be in there that long. That`s still to be tried then. I have a good few silicone packets of the type you find in the box with a new product, would those come in handy in there too? I`ll get that done then. I take it there are plenty of examples of people doing thise and having it work?
You know what Devnull, I haven`t actually done that. I just didn`t really consider it an option. That`s why a few brains are better than one Thanks In the mean time, any more ideas folks? If anyone could comment on the floppy keyboard idea I`d be particularly interested in that........

If the corrosion has already been done on the keypad contacts, then there is not fix other than to replace the device.

Could the bendy keyboard idea be an option? It does look like i`m just going to have to live with it I know..... At least until I can buy a new one which could be a very long time.........

A compatible Bluetooth keyboard would likely be a good workaround.

I've never had to buy one before, what sort of device am I looking at? a usb? If I have to just live with it I'd be a lot happier if I had one of those to use while at home......

Right £60 is a bit much really. Are you saying this is the only one you know of that`ll work? I`m hoping a certain TYPE of keyboard will work, thus giving me a chance to buy something I can afford right now......

You are going to need to find one that is compatible with the BlackBerry OS because they require software drivers to be installed on the device in order to function properly.

Feel free to do some searching on your own to see if you can find different ones. I know that that particular one will work.

So as long as the thing I find mentions Blackberry in the list of compatibles, thats enough? It doesn`t need to mention my individual type of blackberry? That sounds like the case If so, I`ve seen a few at an affordable price....

You need to make sure that the device has software that is compatible with your device and your device OS version.
