Default Battery Help.

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I'm not sure on where to post this, so i've posted it in a couple of places and if this isn't the right place, i apologise.

Basically, i tend to find that the battery for my Blackberry 9300 doesn't last as long as my previous phones, it struggles to last a day at college..

Tomorrow, i'm leaving 'sunny' yorkshire to go to london to watch Huddersfield Town away at charlton and i'll be leaving my house at 6.30am and returning about 10pm, so i doubt my battery will last..

My sister has an old blackberry she doesn't use anymore, a 8520. If i was to charge the battery from this phone, would i be able to put it in my 9300 and would it work?

Cheers, Connor

First, if the other battery is not the exact same model battery, don't do it. It likely wouldn't work either (smart battery).

About the short battery life, there are two likely causes, and it could be one or the other or both. Apps that are left running or run in the background and that continually hit the network will run a battery down quickly. A battery may also lose charge fast when it is beginning to fail.

If you haven't already, you need to take a look at the apps you have running all the time (other than the core BlackBerry apps that can't be closed). Close everything, all the time, and test for 24-36 hours.

If your battery is a couple of years old, or if you have been routinely running the battery all the way down before charging, then you should try a new battery, or at least borrow a battery as a test.

Ok, i've only had to phone for about a month and i've not downloaded any apps - although it came with Facebook and Twitter which i use, but recently the Twitter has said 'No Network Connection' so i've avoided using it..

Thanks for the suggestions..

Please, on one post/thread per problem. Your other posts have been deleted. Once is enough.

This from our FAQ may help: Maximum Battery Life - BlackBerryFAQ

Do not let the battery get below 20% on a routine basis, as it can cause harm and shorten the battery life. Do not use a battery not designed for your device as that can damage the device.

Facebook eats a lot of power as it is constantly hitting the web and updating. Probably part of your problem.

The data cable that comes with the Blackberry will charge the battery from a USB connection on the PC while in class and the phone will still work.
