Hopefully this is a simple question. I have just figured out how to transfer CD's via Roxio to my BB 8310. Now I want to transfer a DVD, however, my desktop computer does not have the capability to read a DVD thus not able to transfer. What can I do? My laptop (Apple) has the DVD capability but doesnt have DM on it. Can I put DM on my laptop and transfer? since I have my BB setup thru DM & Windows am I stuck with having to use the DM via my desktop (Windows XP) ? In simple lanquage what's the answer?
Do you have a media card reader on your laptop? If so you might try to convert the DVD to a format the BB will recognize then put that converted file onto the media card. Then put the card in the BB and give it a try.

There are several free applications that will convert all sorts of media types to .3gp (which I find the most pleasant format to put on my BB for video). Now, I'm speaking from a PC standpoint. I would think that there are also several options for MAC users as well. The BB can play mp4 video which iPhone supports - so I would definitely think you should be good to go finding software.
DM will not install on a Mac. You will need to find away to convert the files and transfer them to the media card. You can convert the DVD to either 3gp or mp4 then using a card reader put them on the media card for the BB then re-insert the card back into the BB. You could also use one of the programs listed in the post above.
