Imap & pop3 are two different mail server protocols... they are different, but function similarly and shouldn't have much of an impact on you.

I have a really old ipod, and I would say they are comperable, an mp3 is only as good as it's encoder - so if you have a bad file it plays poorly... but I don't notice any difference in quality.

Part of your package, no additional fees. The major drawback w/ the blackberry.net address is they don't have a web interface, so you can only read them on your phone - and if you get rid of your account, I don't think they'll forward your email afterwards.

I don't think so. You can from Email, but not from the Browser.
There is an option to Save Page which saves it to your email... I don't know how that works (something to investigate).

Not that I know of. You can protect the whole device, so that when it's locked you have to type in a password... but you can't protect folders (or files on the media cards)

I haven't found any themes for the Storm (free or otherwise). In fact there isn't much software ready for the Storm yet. I'm sure they'll come with time. Check the Blackberry Help site on your phone, they tend to keep it up to date and it links to 3rd party providers.
