Hi,

My wife had a touch screen Palm and always had the following type of problem....when taking a call her ear would activate the touch screen in some way and cause issues (application loading, hanging up call, etc.). Has anyone experienced similar issues with the Storm? Or is this prevented or does not happen because of some inherent design? Any input or experiences would be appreciated! Thank you!

Nope, there is a program though that locks the BB as soon as you make a call, I used it, but never had the problem so I just removed it.

I don't use any of the software locks. Never have an issue with ear/face/cheek messing with the touch screen.

I think the folks that like to shoulder their Storm when talking do have those issues however. I'm too scared to shoulder it and just go handsfree. Too pricey to replace.

That happens to me only when I am shouldering or multi-tasking.

However, you can just press the screen lock after you receive the call and the problem is solved. That works for me just fine. It's located on the upper left corner of the unit.

No, the storm is set-up so when you are on a call you have to hit the end button to close the call and the BB button to get into any other application. I love my Storm and haven't had any problems on a call. As for the palm issue, I used to have the 650 and you can change a setting so when you are on a call the touch screen is disabled.

I heard about a businessman who was on a trip with his secretary. They decided to engage in a little hanky-panky in the hotel room and as they rolled about in a passionate embrace; he speed dialed his wife. I don't know if he used his butt or some other appendage. You can imagine what she heard!

Roofus, funny you should mention that.

While at a party, I engaged in conversation with my friend's mother-in-law, who is in her 70's. While seated in a deck recliner I somehow nudged my phone and dialed the previous number dialed - my wife. It went to voicemail mid conversation. My friend's mother-in-law is hefty and rather unattractive. She was being down on herself and I was facetiously telling her how beautiful and intelligent she was. The voicemail captured the conversation and it appeared to my wife that I was flirting with some young lady. I caught hell the next day and it wasn't until my wife actually met the woman and confirmed my story that I was let off the hook!

I bet that story is true. Talk about Murphy's law!

There was one time when I accidentally turned the speaker phone on, but after that I learned to not press the phone against my ear hard enough to click the screen.

I've tried that several times, but it doesn't do anything. :\
