Default 7100i direct connect

Hey guys, I'm new to the bb line...

I tried doing a search but didnt find anything.

The problem I'm running into is that when I am talking to someone via DC if we pause for about 5 seconds it ends the session, is there any way of extending the time that it takes to disconnect?

Thanks,
Tracey

Nope... the 7520 was plagued with the same issue. I think the timeout is the same as the Nextel phones, but with the BB it will go back to the last app used most of the time and not the phone log, and THAT'S the real issue. On the 7100 it's a bit easier to get back, just hit the green phone button then the DC... assuming your call log is in 'most recent' order you'll have that person ready to roll...

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100i/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/103)

Thanks, that's what I was afraid of though, I've been trying to figure it out for a couple days now! Thanks again!

Nextel's Direct connect times out automaticly in the system after 6 seconds. it is not a phone or BB issue it is how the network is set up.

it is setup to reduce the network load. A traditional two-way radio system drops off instantly. When you call a nextel customer one of the reasons you get the "please wait while the Nextel..." is because the are on a DC call and the system knows it will only hold it for 6 seconds.
