Default Sync question

Please Login to Remove!

I've been syncing my 8900 Contacts with Address Book through the Desktop Manager without any issues for a year or more. Today, it took nearly an hour and left the BB with an unresponsive blank white screen, which rebooting cured fortunately.

The only thing that I can think of that's happened since the previous sync is that I've been trying to sync AddressBook with my Gmail contacts through iSync (which is a real trip down the rabbithole and one of the main reasons I'm gong to stay a BB user and not switch to Android!). Does anyone know if that could contribute to problems with DM syncing?

Thanks

Was there any message on the white screen, maybe very small error something or other with the word reset? Or totally white screen?

Totally white as far as I remember. Freaked me out until rebooting was successful!

Either way, it may have had nothing to do with Desktop Manager or iSync. If it was an error, you'll have to see if it happens again frequently and then if it does, figure out the cause through a process of elimination, starting with iSync.

If it was a solid white screen and not a white screen with an error message, that is not so good. That suggests a hardware fault, intermittent, but a hardware problem. The fact that it was ok after a battery pull doesn't necessarily prove software is the culprit. Search on "white screen" and read.

Wait and see if it happens again.

Thanks. I'll wait to see what happens. Just so long as it lasts until the 9900 comes out...

I hear ya. Looking forward to that myself.

Post an update when you have something; or even if you don't see it again after a week or two, that will be good info.
