Default Can't access the web!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've just been issued with a bb 7230 through work. I believe it is OS 4.0.0.188, and I am using the standard bb browser.

I can access my work INTRANET no problem using wireless connection. Also no problems synching with my work email account (I believe work is running on an Enterprise server).

When however I try to access anywhere outside of my work intranet (such as http://wap.blackberryforums.com), a box pops up on screen as follows:

Authorization required for
Proxy: xxx.x.xx.xxx
Username:
Domain: COMPANY.COM
Password:

When I then press 'OK' or 'Cancel', the screen HTTP Error 401: Unauthorized comes up and the page then drops out.

I would like to know if there is a user name and password I can fill in myself to get access to the web, or is this my work blocking web access?

Your company obviously has a proxy server that the BES has to go through to get to the internet. The proxy is requiring you to authenticate to get out. We have the same scenario. I have an account on the proxy server but can not get it to work. It seems to only pass part of the credentials on to the proxy server which fail to authenticate.

Some people in the BES Admin Corner may be able to answer this for you, although this isn't yet confirmed a BES problem.

I'd think it's probably because you are on a BES, and it is behind some kind of a proxy server.

The proxy is prompting you to enter your Windows logon id, domain, and password (the same one you probably use to log into your computer at the beginning of the day). The domain will be specific to your company domain.

Thanks for your suggestions guys.

I have now tried entering my Windows user, password and domain, but it still won't let me through!

Anyone else with any more ideas?

So how did the technical people fixed this?

I'm having the same issue with one of my BlackBerry users, and the odd part is that everyone else on the same BES works.

Thanks

Good day, I managed to finally resolved the issue by installing the latest service packs. Apparently it was a bug for the MDS authentication.
