On my blackberry curve 8530 I upgraded myspace and after the upgrade was completed it changed some settings. I use to unlock my blackberry by pressing *send and now I have to press mute. Is there anywhere I can change that?

No, that can't be changed, it is the way it is with your latest OS upgrade.

What does OS upgrade mean? If I didn't upgrade myspace, would it have stayed the same?

OS = operating system, aka the device software.

Doesn't seem like myspace would have changed anything like that, at least as far as I know. Did you do a system software upgrade (an OS upgrade)?

I think it was the Setup Wizard, but thats what came up when it said to upgrade myspace. Do you think thats what caused it? Can you like undo that?

I still don't think it is myspace. But uninstall it and see what happens. You can always reinstall it.

But like the others, I think you are seeing what is the way the OS operates. There is nothing you can do in that case, except downgrade to an older OS version that functions the way you liked.

No, it wasn't MySpace that caused this, but it sounds like you also upgraded the device OS at the same time.

So,... to save the suspense, what us your operating system release on your 8530?
Options > About, third line down, looks like v5.0.0.xxx

Yep, that is latest, most recent officially released version of the 8530 operating system. The way you lock and unlock the device is changed now. The only way to go back to the former way of doing it, is to downgrade the OS back to what you had.

Default Re: Unlock BlackBerry 8530

There are lot of ways in unlocking your cell phones.
Remember, for all phones there are limited number of attempts for entering unlockcode.
Exceeding the limits may ofcourse result in hard locking of the cell phone.
Beware of the fact that you will come across free codes(fakes most) in the web.
But yes you will find real ones too. However pay some $ n get the real codes.
Dont take risk.

Listed below are websites with some good prices in the market.

unlockgenie.com

gsmliberty.net/

globalunlock.com/

mobileunlocksolutions.com/
