I'm new to Blackberries, I've never used one so I may be uninformed.

We're running an IMAP based email cluster supporting 85,000 users in an educational environment. We require TLS and authentication for sending and receiving email.

We are looking to provide a blackberry enterprise server for some of our users (not all of them of course). Ideally, we'd like to not forward copies of the messages to a seperate blackberry account. We'd like to achieve full IMAP compatibility so that a user can mark a message as read, delete a message, file messages into IMAP folders, etc.

As far as I can tell, this only works with Exchange and the like.

Why?

Who can I talk to about this?

If development to achieve this goal is possible, where do I get started?
