Default Another wifi question. New BB user.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Sorry i'm sure regular BB and forum members are sick of this question. but I've searched an researched the past little while and am not having any luck.

I got a BB curve 8530, for a steal after my htc phone broke. My plan is kinda complicated.. so i'll just say that I have a BB, but no data plan.

I was reading other posts, and i guess many people frown on not using a dataplan, but I would really appreciate some help.

I brought the phone home, set up the wifi, and it worked fine. I was browsing using the BB browser, and I was quite content with the phone. At that point it did everything I needed it to do. The phone has not been activated to my plan with Bell yet.

A day later, I can not connect to the internet using wifi. It continuously says "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later."

Please help me figure out what changed. I tried downloading opera mini, and it is not connecting either. I read multiple times that you can use the wifi without data, and it worked for me the first night, and I changed nothing. I would like to know whats wrong before activating my phone, because if I can't use the wifi, and will probably sell it and save myself the fee.

Thanks for your help. Sorry for another redundant thread.

Moved to the 8500 section.

You need the BB data plan from Bell to get the proper service books, WiFI being one.

Not the answer you probably wanted to hear however.

Thanks, kinda makes sense, but why did it work last night and not today?

Bell probably found out you were using a BB and not your normal device and blocked it.
