Default 8310 usb/charging ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

First off, I apologize for creating a new thread if there is already one in existence regarding my issue:

I recently purchased a phone charger from Wal-Mart for my 8310. It charges my phone w/ no problems.

Since I first connected the BB to the car charger, it will not charge when plugged into the wall outlet. Nor does my laptop identify that my bb is even connected to the usb port. Both of these methods are being used by the cords that originally came w/ the device. I have tried a soft reset and taking out my battery for 5+ mins. Updating my driver software. Being that its still taking/holding a charge from my vehicle, wouldn't that rule out a defective battery/usb outlet on the device?

Any suggestions/help would be very much appreciated

-nate

I don't follow, exactly: Does your blackberry charge at all now, by any method with the usb connector?

Ira, yes, it charges fine using the car charger I got from wal-mart. But it will not charge if I plug into the wall or my laptop, nor does my phone recognize a connection (the icon isn't revealed on my phone when plugged into the wall or laptop).

My device doesn't recognize any other cord plugged in except the car charger usb.

I don't have an answer. It does seem unlikely both the wall charger and the usb cable would both go bad at same time, and at same time you try out new Walmart car charger. Can you borrow another wall charger or another usb cable to test?

check to see if the pins in the mini-usb port on your phone are bent. You have to be very careful when plugging in chargers or usb data cables into this phone, as the port is very fragile.

Default 8310 usb/charging

GAnatedawg,
My wife recently recently purchased a phone charger from Wal-Mart for her curve 2 and it did the same thing exactly. She also plugged it into our Garmin Nuvi 765 and it did the same to that device. I have to send the Nuvi back to Garmin. There is a guy in San Francisco that will repair the USB for 40 Bucks as the same thing happent to a co-worker that bought a car charger from wallmart. With out the comp cable sync option I cannot back up her data to transfer to a new Blackberry, just the info on the SD Card. So frustrating.

Spent 1 hour and 15 on the phone with Garmin, tried 4 separate USB cables and it's the USB for sure.
Sucks cause we lost all our favorites, trips, ect.

I think the cause stems from the larger/smaller size of the walmart squishes the pins making all other USB adapters inoperable.

I have a BB 8310, the USB connector is now come off. The soldering from MB is broaken. Is there any one repair this thing in India ? Except the connector, all other components are fine.
