Please Login to Remove!

I have the Torch 9800 and have 6.0.0.337 on t-mobile But there is no updates on blackberry desktop at the moment, And i think i am getting so poor battery life i have screen only on 10% Brightness & with Wi-Fi OFF so i was thinking it's has to be 337 to be the problem..

How can i upgrade to 448 why is it not on the desktop as an update
and would a 1500 mah battery be better

I am no good with software so need easy way to update ...

Thanks

What do you call poor battery life?

Maybe more than you need but useful in determining some battery issues.

You can download any leaked or official ( released by at least one carrier ) OS and install it on your pc then add it through the app loader process. You would want to delete the vendor xml. In fact you may find after you upgrade you may want to keep doing it with other OS and hybrids lol... I found the .526 and .534 to be great with battery after a day or two to settle in.

It realy is as simple as downloading the OS then running it to add it on your computer. From there you would do into C: Program files (x86 if on windows 7) common files then research in motion. Here the top folder App loader is the one you would go into to delete the vendor file (which should be at the bottom) and also to click on loader (should be about the 4th option down) to start the load process) There is also a shared folder with a sub folder of Loader files which is where the OS will be once you have ran it and put it on your pc. In any event once you have connected your bb to pc by usb and clicked run loader it will go through the OS loading process basically by itself. You will click a couple of times to get it started and then you are done. Once completed your phone will restart and it's a good idea to do a battery pull restart afterwards.
Also if you are more comfortable with using DM to update, once you have downloaded and run to install the OS on your pc then DM should see it and you can install it that way as well. Good luck and you may find you love the update process as much as I do. I think I'm addicted to trying different ones in a search for the best overall

You can download .526 from here. Don't worry, its an official RIM upgrade. Just fill in the required info, download it to your computer. Then,

Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry.

Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

enjoy the new OS.
