Default BB Media Manager doesn't display correct file names from Itunes/Windows

Please Login to Remove!

I have the BB Media Manager (from AT&T) software installed on XP, running a not to new vers of Itunes, MM does not show the correct file names that are created in Windows XP and then playlists created in Itunes.

The file names show up as their original filenames when they came from a non secure/non copy written DVD, instructional .MP3's.

I renamed the files so that I could understand them more clearly when selecting to listen on my BB 9700 Bold.

I edited the Itunes library .xml file and even deleted it and recreated the playlists from scratch with newly recopied files from their original DVD, one set has ported over correctly leaving one more set of similarly named files to be corrected, otherwise the file names are to long to read easily and you then have to edit/properties on them all, not what I Want to do!

I am about to install the latest media management software from BB's site with the latest Itunes software version, but I think this is a windwos' problem?

Any input would be appreciated,
Thanks

Wirelessly posted (8520 (5.0.0.411))

On your itunes library, browse to the media files you wish to copy to your BB and select them. Then right click and click on 'Convert ID3 Tags' and on the resulting dialog you can select which tag version to use. Select v2.4 and click OK, give it a second then try and copy them using media manager, this should fix your problem.

Dude just use mass storage mode. Media manager is a memory hog anyway.

He wants the Playlists too ... & possibly the ability for the playlists to be added/deleted to by other tracks downloaded on the BB directly, and sync'd back to the PC. Media Manager is NOT a memory hog nor a resource hog. You need to check what you're running as startup on your PC. I'm on a 2GB Celeron D (non dual core) at 2.66Ghz on an Optiplex GX520 and its not a problem for me.

To the host:
1. Check the actual file name in WinXP Explorer (wherever their located).
2. Double check the track name in INFO on iTunes to match (remove unnecessary junk like track #.
3. Setup your playlists again in iTunes and in Media Player.

As a tip I setup all my tracks with "Artist - Track Title" with .mp3/.AAC as file type.
